National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS)
The mission of NIAMS "is to support research into the causes, treatment, and prevention of arthritis and musculoskeletal and skin diseases, the training of basic and clinical scientists ... and the dissemination of information." The site provides information about diseases such as arthritis, autoimmune diseases, gout, and osteoporosis as well as information about training programs, patient research registries, news, and links to related sites. What Is Rosacea? Fast Facts
Answers basic questions about the chronic skin (and sometimes eye) disease "characterized by redness, pimples and, in advanced stages, thickened skin" and summarizes current research. Questions and Answers About Epidermolysis Bullosa
Epidermolysis bullosa (EB) "is a group of blistering skin conditions. The skin is so fragile in people with EB that even minor rubbing may cause blistering. ... In severe EB, blisters are not confined to the outer skin. They may develop inside the body." International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT): Bibliographies
Several bibliographies on topics related to yoga and health conditions: addiction, AIDS, arthritis, asthma, back pain, cancer, depression, diabetes, heart disease, pain management, and the psychophysiological effects of yoga. Other bibliographies are available for a fee. From the International Association of Yoga Therapists, which provides an "interface between yoga and medicine."


National Psoriasis Foundation (NPF)
"The National Psoriasis Foundation is a patient-driven nonprofit organization that is the voice for the [millions of] people affected by psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis." The site features an overview of psoriasis ("a noncontagious, lifelong skin disease"), and information on treatment, advocacy, and research. Also features statistics, educational publications, resources for medical providers, and links to related resources.

This site provides "articles for patients and their family members who seek current, reliable information on a variety of medical conditions and topics." American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons: Your Orthopedic Connection
This site provides patient information about "the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention of injuries and diseases of your body's musculoskeletal system." Features articles about general bone and joint health (such as how to sit at a computer, how to use crutches, and exercise) and material about specific conditions, such as joint replacement, arthritis, and osteoporosis. Collection of reports that evaluate prescription medicines used for common conditions such as high cholesterol, arthritis, and heartburn. The reports look at efficacy, safety, and price to recommend the best medicines. Reports also provide a general overview of the drugs and cost comparisons of the generic and brand-name drugs.
